Getting Started
Quick start guide
New to Monolit? Start here to get up and running in minutes.
What is Monolit.Cloud?
Monolit.Cloud is the shared foundation behind the Monolit suite. It manages identity, devices, sync, configuration, secrets, and security across MonolitMail, MonolitBrowser, and MonolitCalendar.
How do I create an account?
Visit app.monolit.cloud and sign up with your email. You will receive a verification email to confirm your account. Once verified, you can register your first device and start using Monolit products.
How do I register a device?
After logging into your Monolit.Cloud account, navigate to the Devices page and click Register Device. You will receive a device code that you enter on the device you want to register. Each device must be explicitly trusted before it can access your data.
Which products are available now?
MonolitMail and MonolitBrowser are available now. MonolitCalendar is coming soon. All products connect to Monolit.Cloud for unified identity, sync, and security.
Do I need Monolit.Cloud to use the products?
Yes. All Monolit products require a Monolit.Cloud account. It provides the shared identity, sync, and security model across the suite and your devices.
Security & Privacy
How we protect your data
Zero-knowledge architecture, end-to-end encryption, and device trust.
How is my data encrypted?
All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256 encryption. Your vault data is encrypted client-side before transmission, meaning we never have access to your unencrypted secrets.
What is zero-knowledge architecture?
Zero-knowledge means we do not have access to your data. Your master key never leaves your devices, and all vault data is encrypted on your device before being sent to our servers.
How does device trust work?
Every device must be explicitly registered and trusted before it can access your data. You can set different trust levels for different devices and revoke access instantly from your Cloud dashboard.
What data do you collect?
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service: account information, device metadata, and sync data. We do not collect telemetry, usage analytics, or tracking data.
Can I export my data?
Yes. You can export all your data at any time from your Cloud dashboard. We support standard formats for maximum portability.
What happens if I lose a device?
You can instantly revoke access for any device from your Cloud dashboard. Once revoked, that device can no longer sync or access your data.

How do Browser workspaces work?
Workspaces in MonolitBrowser are completely isolated browsing environments. Each workspace has its own cookies, cache, history, and bookmarks.

What is a namespace in Monolit sync?
Namespaces are logical containers for synced data. Each product or configuration type has its own namespace.
How does conflict resolution work?
When conflicts occur, Monolit uses last-write-wins with timestamp comparison. You can view and resolve conflicts manually from the Sync page in your dashboard.

Monolit products are available for macOS, Windows, and Linux. We are working on iOS and Android versions.
Is there an API?
We are working on a public API for advanced integrations. Documentation will be available when the API launches.
